ROOMMATE AND TENANT CONCERNS

Q: What do I do when I have a problem with one of my roommates?
A: Most difficulties among roommates stem from a lack of meaningful communication. It is always best to discuss some common unit norms, whether explicit or implicit. Never allow the issue to escalate to the point of shouting or potential violence.
Q: My neighbors music is preventing me from studying and sleeping, what do I do?
A: First, try and resolve the issue by going to your neighbor and politely asking them to keep the music at a lower volume. If this doesn’t work, ask the front desk for assistance and the issue will be resolved.

A: Coordinate with your roommates in advance. You will need kitchen items and utensils, bedding items, clothes, toiletries, desk lamp, school supplies.

Q: What is there to do in Santa Barbara?
A: For those of us who already live here, we chuckle when we hear this question. Quite literally, almost anything. Here are some things we have done in the past two years: ● Hike to waterfalls ● Ride a bus to UCSB and back ● Scuba Dive ● Whale watching ● Watch the sunset ● Beach City movie nights ● Meet people ● Find great food places ● Learn to play soccer, golf, pool, piano, or guitar ● Become a master chef ● Find the right party with friends ● Motorcycle ride to the mountains ● Surf ● Hang out with friends, have a bonfire, and BBQ ● Swim in the pool ● Play ping pong at the Beach City courts ● Watch movies at home or at the theater The bottom line is that rather than spend time in Santa Barbara, invent your time in Santa Barbara. You’ll have a great time!
